I’ve always been interested in the dynamics created by and for people in the workplace and how people’s work works with their life. Because of that, I studied at Cornell’s School of Industrial Labor Relations and knew I wanted to practice labor and employment law when I entered law school. I practiced employment law for 30 years, representing both employers and employees. While practicing law, I also co-founded an online human resources training company and co-developed a blockchain-based workplace communications platform. I’ve made intentional decisions to follow my interest and passion for decades. My professional life was all about people and work.
I’m still all about people and work. Now I help people and organizations with workplace issues in a new way. I went back to NYU, earned my Executive Coaching certificate and practice as an Executive Coach for the legal community and other professionals. I help realize leadership and productivity potential, make the most of transition opportunities, and support work/life alignment (more about that in the next edition).
My experience gave me an opportunity to develop a multi-perspective view on workplace dynamics. I continue to dig into how people thrive in workplaces, how law firms and organizations support and are supported by their people, and how work impacts our lives. I started this newsletter to share insights and experiences and start conversations.
I’m excited for you to join me as we explore these dynamics together.
We’ll be discussing some of the themes for addressing change, growth, choice, habits and sustainability that come up in my coaching. We’ll be engaging with questions such as:
- How to move forward with impact,
- How to build a career that supports and sustains you,
- How to use your values to support a sustainable career,
- How to build habits that support you and your goals,
- How to find the first step to getting unstuck,
- How to create workplaces that support members goals,
- How to create workplaces where members can fully contribute and support team goals, and
- How to navigate transitions to realize their opportunities.
In our next issue I’ll be exploring work-life alignment. It’s the number one thing that people ask me about, whether it’s at a Lunch & Learn or in a client session, and it’s an important tool to take charge of your own career sustainability. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
